Our climate concept
We combined the benefits of TENCEL™ Lyocell and cotton in our Bella Donna summer products.
The darker face of the pillowcase is made from the natural cellulose fibre TENCEL™ Lyocell. It is able to absorb heat and moisture and release it back into the air. It also hinders the formation of bacteria and odours. A high-quality cotton jersey, refined with aloe vera and argan oil, provides a sense of cosy well-being on the lighter face. Sandwiched in-between is a thin and breathable polyester lining, so warmth and moisture circulate perfectly.
Beautifully made
Like all Formesse products, our Bella Donna summer pillowcases are of the very highest quality. The three material layers are elaborately knitted into a jacquard jersey. The subtle colours and playful lozenge pattern set sophisticated accents, rounded off by a high-quality, concealed, brand zip. Our Bella Donna summer pillowcases are sewn in a family-run business in Slovakia. However, since the proportion of sewing is not insignificant, we declare this product as "Made in EU".
Double-face look
Our Bella Donna summer pillowcases are produced with different faces: One face of the pillowcase displays the Tencel™ Lyocell side of the material, the other displays the cotton side. So sleepers are completely free to choose whether to rest their head on Lyocell or cotton.
ClimatePartner certification – our contribution to climate protection
Since 2019 we have been working with ClimatePartner AG and supporting climate protection projects worldwide. In response to understandable public criticism of the lack of standardised guidelines around green claims and the resulting risk of greenwashing, ClimatePartner AG has come up with a new label – one that is transparent, far-reaching and guided by binding reduction targets. We have been using this new assessment process since 2023: We have completed the 5 steps for successful climate protection in cooperation with ClimatePartner and have received ClimatePartner certification for our company and our products.

Care tips:
Our Bella Donna summer pillowcases are incredibly easy-care: wash them in the morning on a 60° C cycle, then line dry or tumble dry, and they’ll be ready to put back on again in the evening.
Sustainable TENCEL™ Lyocell:
TENCEL™ Lyocell is derived from wood, a sustainable raw material that is fully biodegradable. The wood originates exclusively from sustainable, certified and controlled forestry management that follows the stringent guidelines of the Lenzing Wood and Pulp Policy.
TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres are considered highly sustainable due to their environmentally-friendly, closed-loop product process. Wood pulp is transformed into cellulose fibres with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact. The solvents used in this spinning process are recovered from the process water to 99% and subsequently reused.
As they are derived from nature, all standard TENCEL™ Lyocell fibre types are certified as biodegradable and are compostable under industrial, home, soil and marine conditions, so can revert fully back to nature.
Tip: wash before first use
Our pillowcases should be washed before first use. Not only is it more hygienic, it also creates our perfect fit, as all knitted fabrics shrink the very first time they’re washed. The degree of initial shrinkage has been carefully calculated in all our patterns.
